The state’s richest fishing rodeo is over and a long list of new boat, motor and trailer owners will claim their prizes Oct. 10 at an awards ceremony in Baton Rouge.

The CCA/Mercury S.T.A.R. (Statewide Tournament and Angler’s Rodeo) Barb-B-Que and celebration at Live Oak Arabians was rescheduled due to the threat of Tropical Storm Isidore. Ticket and other information can be found at www.ccalouisiana.com or by calling 225-952-9200.

Among those picking up their new fishing rigs will be David Brown who entered the largest speckled trout statewide, a 10-pound, 3-ounce fish caught in Calcasieu Lake. Brown’s trout tied the tournament record.

Drew Junker of Metairie will also pick up a boat, motor and trailer. He won the new Dorado category with a 51-pound, 8-ounce dolphin.

There were also three winners in the tagged redfish category.
