St. Germain inks with SLU to continue baseball career LUTCHER – Planning for his future Lutcher High student Rizley St. Germain recently signed a letter of intent to attend and play baseball at Southeastern Louisiana University. Surrounded by his friends, family and Lutcher head coaches Tim Detillier and Scott Tribble, St. Germain signed for his college career. The choice wasn’t simply determined by his talent on the football and baseball field. “I felt the coaches treated me well and I liked the environment. It was just like home,” said St. Germain. The school also has one of the best education programs, added St. Germain. That was a big factor, considering St. Germain’s intent to graduate with a degree in education and return to the field as a coach after graduation. With his senior year almost under his belt, St. Germain is pleased with the way things have been going for him and the baseball team. “I feel we came a long way. People didn’t expect a lot and we surprised a lot of people,” said St. Germain. Head baseball coach Tribble was also pleased with the team as well as St. Germain’s place on it. “Risley is one of our leaders. He’s a great pitcher and plays well both offensively and defensively,” said Tribble.
