1913 The Reynaud-Elmore-Police Jury injunction suit which created a good deal of interest in our parish and some sensation in the district court and which was taken under advisement by Judge Edrington, ended on Thursday in favor of Mr. Fernand Reynaud of Lucy. Meschacebe Tribe No. 99, Improved Order of Red Men, of Garyville, electedtheir roster of officers. The Tribe is in first condition, has 120 members anda nice belt of wampum in the bank.

Superintendent J.H. Dupuy tendered his resignation after serving in theposition since September 1911.

1925 Mr. Augustin Lasseigne, 64 years of age, died last Saturday morning at 10o’clock. He was president of the Bank of St. John and was part-owner ofWoodland Plantation and Woodland Store until last year when the plantation was cut up in small farms and sold. He was part-owner of the San FrancisPlantation and Lasseigne-Englade Store in Lions, Cedar Grove Plantation in Iberville Parish and Ellington Plantation in St. Charles Parish. Born to Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Perilloux of Laplace, a sweet little baby girl onNov. 19, receiving the name of Katheleen Lucille. The basketball game played last Sunday with Hahnville resulted in a victory for Edgard, 41-20.

1965 DuPont’s Ponchartrain Works announced approval of a $5 million expansion project to be completed in 1967 The 1965 Little Sugar Bowl Classic will be held Sunday at the Reserve Recreation Center.

Weil’s Clothing store will hold its grand opening at the Riverlands Shopping Center on Thursday.

Paul Smith has been elected president of the Riverlands Civic Association, succeeding Earl Manning.
