BERGERON

LULING – Alma Hymel Bergeron, 91, a native of Luling and resident of Bogalusa for 48 years, died Nov. 11. She was the wife of the late Joseph W.Bergeron Sr. and mother of Marie Schmidt, Carolyn Bergeron, Mary “Maggie”Jones and Joseph Bergeron Jr.

She was also the daughter of the late Lionel Sr. and Odette Becnel Hymel;stepdaugher of Albertine Hymel; sister of the late Louise Chaisson, Odette Webre, Elodie Hymel and Lionel Jr. and Hubert Hymel; half-sister of Leontineand Larry, Conrad and the late Charles Hymel Sr.; and stepsister of the lateEvelyn Ingraham.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services were Nov. 13 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Luling, withinterment at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Taft.

CLARK

AMA – Malcolm Pernell Clark Sr., 67, a native and resident of Ama, died Nov.4. He was the husband of Vivian Mott Clark and father of Venessa Simmonsand Malcolm Clark Jr.

He was also the son of Lisa Gilfore and brother of Doris Williams, Beverly Byrd, Ernest Patterson and Earl Clark.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Nov. 11 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Ama, with interment atMt. Pilgrim Cemetery, Ama.

D’ARENSBOURG

LULING – Norman D’Arensbourg Sr., 87, a native of Lucy and resident ofLuling, died Nov. 11. He was the husband of Marguerite Dinvaut D’Arensbourgand father of Norman Jr. and Glenn D’Arensbourg Sr.He was also the son of the late Victor and Jeanne D’Arensbourg and brother of Ada Tucker and Leona Haydel.

He is also survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was the retired owner of the Pink Palance Restaurant, Bar and Motel in Boutte.

Services were Nov. 14 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Luling, with intermentat St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.

GILBERT

METAIRIE – Emma Jean “Jeanne” Gilbert, 73, a native of Ama and resident of Chauvin for 10 years, died Nov. 9. She was the wife of the late Gordon H.Gilbert and mother of Susan Wynn and Gordon and Warren Gilbert.

She was also the sister of George Roberts.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Nov. 13 in the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home, Metairie.

MELANCON

VACHERIE – Lebora Johnson Melancon, 79, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Nov. 8. She was the mother of Debra Graham and Gerald Johnson.She was also the daughter of the late Tom and Victoria Smith Johnson.

She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Nov. 13 at Highway Baptist Church, Vacherie, with intermentat First Baptist Church Cemetery, Vacherie.

WAGUESPACK

VACHERIE – Albert Joseph Waguespack, 70, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Nov. 11. He was the husband of Jackie Gravois Waguespackand father of Christine Cranford, Ellie Sandlin, Julie Barry and Al, Michael and Eric Waguespack.

He was also the son of Cecile Schexnayder and the late Francis A.

Waguespack; adopted son of the late Leonard and Maude G. Waguespack; andbrother of Mary Ann Borne, Cecile Hymel, Elaine Legendre, Barbara Wood and Geraldine, Shirley, Francis Jr., Thomas, Charles, Wayne and the late AllenWaguespack.

He is also survived by 17 grandchildren.

He was the owner of Waguespack Oil Co., a member of Knights of ColumbusCouncil 1514, for more than 50 years, and a member of the board of directors of First American Bank.

Services were Nov. 13 at St. Phillip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with intermentat the church mausoleum.
