ANDERSON

RESERVE – Louis “Big June” “Andy” Anderson Jr., 67, a native of LaPlaceand resident of Reserve for 38 years, died Nov. 4. He was the husband ofShirley Mae McCray Anderson and father of Wanda Davis, Stephanie Forest, Tammy Joseph and Michael and Perry Anderson.

He was also the son of Louis Anderson Sr. and the late Alberta LewisAnderson and brother of Wilhelmina Jones, Leona Conerly and Walter, Frederick, Richard, Leroy, Clarence Sr., Roland Sr., Raymond Sr., LawrenceSr. and the late Clarisse Anderson.He is also survived by nine grandchildren.

Services are today at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve,with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

BARRANCO

DURANT – Charles Pascal Barranco, 70, a native of New Orleans and resident of Gramercy, died Nov. 8. He was the husband of the late RubyGreen Barranco and father of Donna Brignac, Susan DuGruy and Amy Barranco.

He was also the son of the late Dominic and Rose Barranco and brother of the late Josephine Brewer.

He is also survived by five grandchildren.

Graveside services are today at 2 p.m. at Mizpah Cemetery, Durant.

CHAMPAGNE

MARRERO – Barbara Ann Conner Champagne, 38, a native of Tampa, Fla., andresident of Ama, died Nov. 6. She was the wife of Patrick “Catfish”Champagne Sr. and mother of Sean Taylor, Bradley Gehricke and PatrickJr., Wayne and Michelle Champagne.She was also the daughter of James and Paula Conner, stepdaughter of Shirley Conner, sister of Betty Anchors and Jeff and Peter Conner and granddaughter of Alice Conner.

Services were Nov. 8 in the chapel of Westside Funeral Home, Marrero,with interment at Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Tampa, Fla.

CLARK

AMA – Malcolm Pernell Clark, 67, a native and resident of Ama, died Nov.

4. He was the husband of Vivian Mott Clark for 42 years and father ofVenessa Simmons and Malcolm Jr. and the late Ronald Clark.He was also the son of Lista Gilfore and the late Purnell Clark and brother of Doris Williams, Beverly Byrd, Ernest Patterson and Earl Clark.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Ama, withinterment at Mt. Pilgrim Cemetery, Ama. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

EVANS

MARRERO – Debra Kay “Debbie” Evans, 37, a native of Luling and resident of Marrero, died Nov. 7. She was the daughter of Carroll Evans Sr.,stepdaughter of George Criswell, sister of Donna Drum and Cassondra, Leslie, Curtis “Eddie,” Donald “Terry” and Carroll Evans Jr. and stepsisterof Lee Wright.

Services were Nov. 10 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home in Marrero,with interment at Westlawn Memorial Park.

HARMON

RIVER RIDGE – Anthony Andrew Harmon Jr., 21, a native of New Orleansand resident of LaPlace for five years, died Nov. 6. He was the son of LisaMurdock Smith and the late Anthony Harmon Sr., stepson of Leroy Smith Jr.and brother of Christopher Smith and Jermaine Harmon.

He was also the grandson of James and Jacqueline Murdock and Frank and Sally Robinson.

Services are today at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Richardson Funeral Home,River Ridge, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Visitationstarts at noon.

HARPER

GARYVILLE – Edna Favors Harper, 95, a native and resident of Garyville, died Nov. 4. She was the wife of the late Rev. J.J. Harper and mother ofGloria Jackson, Elouise Smith, Luther Mae Pierce, Barbara Sewell, Jake Jr.

and William Harper and the late Dorth Triche.

She was also the daughter of the late Rev. A.J. and Selena Favors,stepdaughter of the late Virginia Favors and sister of the late Joseph, Bunder and Ethel Favors.

She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Nov. 9 at True Vine Baptist Church, Garyville, withinterment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.

JOHNSON

GRAMERCY – Eddie “Big Ed” Johnson, 69, a native and resident of Gramercy, died Nov. 5. He was the husband of Fabiola Johnson and father ofTheresa Brooks, Marilyn Armant and Edward and Dwayne Johnson.

He was also the son of Felicia Johnson and the late Eddie Johnson and brother of Meliva Parquet, Viola Bejole and Oscar Sr., Frank Sr. and EltonJohnson.

He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were Nov. 10 at New Zion Full Gospel Church, Gramercy, withinterment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina.

McQUATER

GRAMERCY – Willie Lee McQuater, a native of Reserve and resident of Lutcher, died Oct. 28. He was the stepfather of Lou Ida Wilson and LorraineWilson.

He was the son of the late Isaac and Celestine McQuater and brother of Isaac “Pop,” Ernest “Joe” and Charles “Scrap” McQuater.

He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at New Zion Baptist Church, Gramercy, withinterment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.

NICHOLAS

BATON ROUGE – A.W. “Nick” Nicholas, 72, a native of Lutcher and long-time resident of Baton Rouge, died Nov. 5. He was the husband of Louise H.Nicholas and father of Ceasar and Anthony Nicholas.

He was also the brother of Ellen Thompson and Bertha and Mitchell Nicholas.

He is also survived by numerous grandchildren.

Memorial services were Nov. 10 in the chapel of Desselle’s Funeral Home,Baton Rouge.

SLIDELL – Lucrece “Marie” Cortez Page, 69, a native of Vacherie and resident of Lacombe for 21 years, died Nov. 7. She was the wife ofClarence A. Page Jr. and mother of Wayne Sr., David and Glen Page.She was also the sister of Lucia Rodrigue, Lucille Allemand, Lucette Madere, Louisa and Louisiana Scioneaux and Lucien, Felecian, Louie and Lewis Cortez.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Nov. 10 in the chapel of Honaker Funeral Home, Slidell, withinterment at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Slidell.

RACHAL

NORCO – Gladys O’Neal Rachal, 90, a native of Montgomery and resident of Norco, died Nov. 7. She was the wife of the late Leon Rachal and mother ofGean Johnson and Louise Hotard.

She was also the sister of Odessel Slayton, Marie Lowe and Charles O’Neal.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and several great- grandchildren.

Services were private.

ST. PIERRE

PAULINA – Dolores Sheets Haydel “Chupie” St. Pierre, 69, a native of St.Amant and resident of Paulina, died Nov. 7. She was the wife by firstmarriage of the late Ray A. Haydel Sr., by second marriage of Harry P. St.Pierre Sr. and mother of Debbie Creel, Danny St. Pierre and Ray Jr. and KenHaydel.

She was also the daughter of the late Leonce and Hilda Gaudin Sheets and sister of Rita Simpson, James “Sno” Sheets and the late Alvin Sheets.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were Nov. 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, withinterment at Holy Rosary Cemetery, St. Amant.

WAITE

RESERVE – Melville “Mel” Waite, 52, a native of Jamaica and resident of LaPlace, died Nov. 1. He was the husband of Cynthia Waite and father ofShane Waite.

He was also the son of Warren Waite Sr. and the late Adele Waite andbrother of Warren Waite Jr.

Services were Nov. 9 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, withinterment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.

WILLIAMS

GRAMERCY – Vivian Jackson “Butte” Williams, 80, a native of St. Jamesand resident of Gramercy, died Nov. 4. She was the wife of the lateAbraham Williams Sr. and mother of Carolyn Gaines, Linda Bailey, KathleenJohnson and Clarence, Percy and the late Abram and Abraham Williams Jr.

She was also the daughter of the late Eli Sr. and Victoria GregoireJackson, stepdaughter of Nettie Jackson and sister of Elsie Jackson, Audrey Ezidore, Ruby Mitchell, Allen and Eli Jackson Jr. and the lateTheresa Manuel and Clarence and Joseph Jackson Sr.

She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services were Nov. 9 at First Community Antioch Baptist Church,Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina.
