Hahnville completes undefeated season ESJ wraps up second place

THIBODAUX – The Hahnville Tigers kept their record pure as they finished the 2000 season by defeating the Thibodaux Tigers, 39-10, Friday night in Thibodaux.
Hahnville improved to 10-0 overall and wrapped up the District 7-5A championship outright with a 6-0 record. The undefeated regular season isthe Tigers’ first since 1994.
Thibodaux finished the season at 0-10 overall and 0-6 in district.
Hahnville ran all over Thibodaux with a total yardage count of 300. Twohundred of those yards were in rushing, with Skyler Boyle leading the way with 118 yards in 21 attempts and three touchdowns.
Hahnville quarterback, Nick Cannon lead his team in passing with six completions in 12 attempts for 100 yards and two touchdowns.
The Thibodaux Tigers managed to get 170 total yards with 146 yards rushing and 24 yards in the air.
The leading rusher for Thibodaux was Paul Coleman with 18 attempts for 62 yards and one touchdown. Tiger quarterback, Wally Sanders, only passedfor 24 yards and had one interception.
Hahnville did most of their scoring in the first half with two touchdowns in each of the first two quarters. Thibodaux got one their only touchdown in thefirst quarter.
Hahnville Boyle scored his third touchdown in the third quarter, and the game ended with each team scoring on field goals in the fourth quarter. JeremyNavarre kicked a 49-yard field goal for Thibodaux and Matt Cumming finished the scoring by kicking a field goal of 43 yards for Hahnville.
Next week, Hahnville goes into the playoffs with home field advantage and they are projected to play Jesuit.
East St. John 28,South Lafourche 21
GALLIANO – East St. John wrapped up second place in District 7-5A with a 28-21 victory at South Lafourche Friday night.
The Wildcats improved to 8-2 overall and 5-1 in District 7-5A. East St. Johnis projected to host Hammond next week in the Class 5A bi-district playoffs.
South Lafourche finished its regular season at 5-5 overall and 3-3 in district.
