On Saturday, the Miles, friends, family and employees cut the ribbon for the official opeing of the Miles Plaza at 434 Belle Terre Boulevard.

Not only does the shopping mall have a full-service beauty parlor called Salon 434, but there is also the Perfect Nails Spa run by Lyn and John Tran. In between the two salons is the L&J Fashions store.

“From head to feet, here at Miles Plaza you can be complete,” said Latricia Miles of her new business venture.

The building took over five months to complete, and the Miles are hoping the plaza will be a one-stop shopping source for fashion and flair.

“It’s been a lot of hard work, but I’m sure it will pay off,” said Miles.

L&J Fashions has all the latest fashions for men and women. They also sell a full line of shoes, accessories, jewelry and formal wear.

Salon 434 specializes in the latest hair styles, permenants and hair coloring.

Over at Perfect Nail, the Tran family offers their brand of high-quality nail care that has served them well in their other salons in New York City and Lafayette. The Trans are offering free bottles of nail polish with every special-design nail job.

The Mileses are proud to be natives of St. John Parish and be a locally owned and operated business.

“We like to keep those tax dollars right here in St. John, ” said Johnny Miles.
