Bonnie and Clyde team rob Chevron

LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish authorities are looking for a man andwoman who robbed a Chevron gas station Wednesday night.
According to the St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s Office, a white male and awhite female entered the gas station about 10 p.m. Wednesday on U.S.Highway 51 near the Interstate 10 on-ramp.
The man carried a knife, and the woman had a handgun.
The man ordered the female cashier to get down on the floor. While thefemale suspect covered the cashier, the man emptied the cash register of an undisclosed amount of money. The pair also stole the cashier’s cellularphone. The couple then left the station, got into their car parked behind thestation and headed east-bound on Interstate 10. The cashier was not injuredduring the robbery.
Two hours before, St. John authorities got a report from the Baton Rougepolice that a Chevron station just off Interstate 10 had been robbed by a man and woman fitting the description of the two who robbed the LaPlace gas station.
“We are dealing with the same method of operation here,” said Capt. MikeTregre of the St. John Sheriff’s Office. “If we get reports from Florida aboutthese two, we know we are dealing with the same Bonnie and Clyde team.”Anyone with any information on this robbery is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 652-9513.
