Wreck claims Reserve man

RESERVE – A 25-year-old Reserve man died in a single-vehicle accident Friday morning after his car flipped during a turn.

Chad Joseph Murray, 210 Chad B. Baker Road, Reserve, was northbound onLouisiana Highway 3179, according to Louisiana State Police Trooper Stephen Orgeron, when the 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass he was driving overturned when he tried to turn onto Perilloux Drive at 3:15 a.m.Orgeron’s report added that Murray apparently tried to make the turn at a too-high rate of speed. That caused the car to veer off to the left shoulderand into a ditch, where the vehicle overturned and came to rest on its roof.

Murray was pronounced dead at River Parishes Hospital at 4:07 a.m. There were no other passengers in the car.
