AUBERT CONVENT – Laurent J. “Rip” Aubert, 88, a native of Wallace and resident ofConvent, died June 1. He was the husband of the late Laurence “Une” S.Aubert and father of Sonjie Haydel.

He was also the son of the late Victor and Alice Dufresne Aubert and brother of Florence Louviere, Georgine Granier and the late Theresa Chauvin, Lillian Minvielle and Claude Aubert Sr.

He is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church,Convent, with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 9a.m.

GRIFFIN PAULINA – Rodney J. “Willy” Griffin Jr., 31, a native and resident of Lutcher,died May 27. He was the son of Marion Griffin and Willard Austin Chappell, theadopted son of the late Rodney Griffin Sr. and brother of Evelyn St. Pierreand Linda Bourgeois.

Services were June 2 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with intermentat the church cemetery.

HILTON LAPLACE – James Roger Hilton, 66, a native of Raleigh, W. Va., and a residentof LaPlace for 16 years, died May 29. He was the husband of Alko Zaha Hiltonand father of Teresa Ramirez, Elizabeth Pirtle and Valerie Cheasson.

He was also the son of the late James and Wilma Shonklin Hilton and brother of Barbara Layman and Robert Hilton.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are today at 2 p.m. at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace.

MIANO GARYVILLE – Edna Millet Miano, 86, a native of Lions and resident of Garyville, died June 1. She was the wife of the late William Miano Sr. and mother ofCarol Elfer and Linda and William “Jackie” Miano Jr.

She was also the daughter of the late Samuel and Corinne Montz Millet and sister of Velma Jacob, Lucille Berthel, Irving, Dennis, Elson, Earl “Mack” and Samuel Millet Jr. and the late Norman Sr. and Raymond Millet Sr.She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, withinterment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve. Visitation begins at 8 a.m.

REVADER DES ALLEMANDS – Rogers Revader, 82, a native and resident of Des Allemands, died May 29. He was the father of Jeremiah Revader.He was also the son of the late Barcellia Sr. and Olivia Revader and brotherof Rosie Clarence, Lucille, Louis Sr., Herman Sr., Alton and Lloyd Revader andthe late Olivia Thomas and Joseph and Barcellia Revader Jr.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, Des Allemands,with interment at Mt. Airy Memorial Park Cemetery, Boutte. Visitation startsat 10 a.m.

WHITNEY PAULINA – Cornelius C. “Buddy” Whitney Jr., 57, a native of Gramercy andresident of Lutcher, died May 30. He was the husband of Elsie CothamWhitney and father of Jeff, Jamie Darren and Brad Whitney.

He was also the son of the late Cornelius Sr. and Gertrude WaguespackWhitney and brother of Kathleen Fallo, Pamela Roach and Charles and Patrick Whitney.

He is also survived by three grandchildren.

He was a Kaiser Aluminum employee for 35 years and an alderman for the Town of Lutcher for 13 years.

Services were June 1 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with intermentat the church mausoleum.
