Eagles named all-district

RESERVE – Senior pitcher Amber Keller leads a group of five Reserve Christian Lady Eagles named to the all-District 12-B softball first team released recently.
Keller was joined on the first team by teammates Rene Delaneuville, Angie Tucker, Mary Venus and Stephanie Wilking. Senior Shelly Ford was also namedto the honorable mention team.
Keller helped lead the Lady Eagles to a 12-4 record and their first ever appearance in the Louisiana High School Athletic Association playoffs.
Reserve Christian fell to Doyle, 8-0, in the bi-district round.
Keller went 8-4 on the season, striking out 4.8 batters per game. At theplate, she batted .388 overall with 10 stolen bases, nine runs batted in and atriple.
Delaneuville, a sophomore catcher, batted .540 overall and .473 in districtwith eight doubles, a triple and 17 RBIs.
Tucker, a junior second baseman, batted .476 in district and .374 overallwith a double, a triple, two home runs and seven RBIs. She also picked up twowins on the mound.
Venus, a sophomore shortstop, batted .500 in district and .400 overall withtwo doubles, a triple and 10 RBIs. Wilking, a sophomore center fielder, batted.554 overall and .642 in district with two doubles, two triples and four RBIs.McGehee freshman pitcher Rebecca Hirsch was named the Most Outstanding Player after leading the Hawks to the district title. Her coach, ScottWestern, was named the Coach of the Year.
Others making the first team from McGehee were freshman catcher Emilie Montgomery, senior infielder Brooke Pickney, sophomore infielder Ashley Perschall, sophomore outfielder Ellie Dupuy and freshman outfielder Hannah Timmons. Selected from Mt. Hermon were junior infielder Heather Ducote andsenior outfielder Christian Walker.
Other honorable mention picks were McGehee freshman Allison Mott and Mt.
Hermon junior Stacy Roberts.
