PONCHATOULA – A Killona man remains in custody after police say he shot one man outside a drive-in restaurant in Pumpkin Center and attempted to shoot his uncle Saturday night.
Toby Wilson Page, 24, of Killona, is charged in Tangipahoa Parish with second- degree murder, attempted second-degree murder and attempted second- degree assault.
According to authorities Page pulled up to the Sonic Drive-In on Louisiana Highway 22, where he found his mother with his uncle, David Page, 40, of Boutte. An argument erupted between the two men and the younger Page opened fire with a .40-caliber Glock semi-automatic pistol. One bullet struck Phillip “Bo” Bankston, 58, in the right temple as he and his wife, Nancy, awaited their restaurant order. Bankston died from the wound. Another bullet struck the elder Page in the right hand. He was later treated for his injury at a Tangipahoa Parish hospital and released.
The younger Page fled the scene and accidently turned onto a dead-end street. He was trying to escape when he was captured.
