CANTIN
NEW ORLEANS – Al Joseph Cantin Jr., 48, a native of New Orleans andresident of LaPlace for 20 years, died March 6. He was the fianc of TammyJimenez.
He was also the son of Al Sr. and Dorothy Randazzo Cantin and brother ofPatricia Phillips and Daniel Vogt.
Services were held March 10 in the chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, New Orleans, with interment at Lakelawn Mausoleum.
DANTIN
LULING – Archie A. Dantin, 75, a native of Franklin and resident of Luling for26 years, died March 7. He was the husband of Ruth P. Dantin and father ofCaroline Madere and Thadeus, Marshall and John Dantin.
He was also the brother of Vera Lonegrass and Lillie Dantin.
He is also survived by six grandchildren.
Memorial services were Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Luling, with interment at Franklin Cemetery, Franklin.
DICKEY
RIVER RIDGE – Ernest “Bubba” Dickey, 72, a native of New Orleans and resident of New Sarpy, died March 5. He was the husband of Johnnie “Deanie”Dickey, father of Debra Gross and foster father of Marion Franklin.
He was also the brother of Shirley Johnson, Grace Johnson and the late Norris White.
He is also survived by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were Saturday in the chapel of Richardson Funeral Home, River Ridge, with interment at Providence Memorial Park Cemetery.
GAUDET
LUTCHER – Hazel Gaudet, 94, a native and resident of Paulina, died March 8.
She was the daughter of the late Paul Sr. and Corinne Laiche Gaudet andsister of Corinne Burke and the late Laurence Laurent, Eunice De Armond, Cecile Veron and Prentiss, Phyllis, Neil, Fleurange and Paul Gaudet Jr.
Services were held March 10 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Chapel, Lutcher, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.
GRABERT
HARVEY – Adeline Hebert Grabert, 90, a native of Des Allemands and resident of Harvey, died March 3. She was the wife of the late Camille BernardGrabert and mother of Dolores Mulhearn and Myra Isemann. She was also thefoster mother of the late Philip “Pee Wee” Hebert.
She was also the daughter of the late Serville and Amanda Cortez Hebert and sister of Anita Kennedy, Elise Boudreaux, Philip Hebert and the late Victor Lepine, Victorine Gauthreaux, Rita DeRoche and Ludwig, Claude and Norman Hebert.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were held March 10 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Harvey, with interment at Westlawn Memorial Park.
GRANIER
KRAEMER – Katherine “Kathy” Candies Granier, 55, a native of Des Allemands and resident of Thibodaux, died March 6. She was the wife of Rudy Garnierand mother of Carla Cortez, Rachael Guessfeild, Wayne and Duane Granier.
She was also the daughter of the late Prudent “Bull” and Ella Dufrene Candies and sister of Karen “Cooney” Simmons and Jerry, Calvin, Lonnie and Marty Candies.
She is also survived by three grandchildren.
Services were held March 9 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Kraemer, withinterment at the church cemetery.
JARROW
EDGARD – Gwendolyn “Bay-Bay” Bovie Jarrow, 58, a native and resident of Edgard, died March 4. She was the wife of Nova Jarrow and mother of JavonBrown and Andre and Kenneth Jarrow.
She was also the daughter of the late Ernest and Eula Bovie and sister of Lorraine Bartholomew, Glennard Joseph, Joyce, Joseph and Clarence Bovie and the late Elser, Walter, Ernest Jr. and Alton Bovie.She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Services were held March 10 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard,with interment at the church cemetery.
MADERE
NORCO – Rita Brady Madere, 78, a native of Hester and resident of Montz, died March 6. She was the wife of the late Clement Madere Jr., and mother ofMarilyn Brady, Jane Roussel, Gail Clement and Elsie, Neil, Bryan, Keith and Michael Madere.
She was also the sister of Melda Petit, Antoinette Kling, Edvige LeBlanc, Marie Poche, Antoine Brady and the late Lillian Weber and Albert, Eddie and Eugene Brady.
She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services were held March 9 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
MICHEL
LUTCHER – Gertrude Hidalgo Michel, 77, a native of Gramercy and resident of Harvey for 50 years, died March 5. She was the wife of Raymond Michel andmother of Meredith Savoie.
She was also the sister of Delores Ramagoso, Anna Mae “Lucky” Sibley, Caffery and Harris Hidalgo and the late Laure Mae Guidry and Gertis Torres.
She is also survived by three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held March 9 at Our Lady of Prompt Succo Chapel, Lutcher, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.
SMITH
RESERVE – Melva “Tee” Gray Smith, 60, a native and resident of Reserve, died March 4. She was the wife of the late Edward Smith.She was also the daughter of Adlene Lewis and sister of the late Betty Jane Gray.
Services were held March 9 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
TORRES
GRAMERCY – Netter Peter Torres, 83, a resident of Gramercy, died March 5.
He was the husband of the late Yvonne Haydel Torres and father of Eileen Mayers and Maureen Torres-Aucoin. He was also the companion of LoisGeorge.
He was also the son of the late James and Josephine Simon Torres and brother of Hortense Torres and the late Ferdinand, Ernest, Edmond and Eddie Torres.
He is also survived by two grandchildren.
He was the past owner of Torres Furniture and Appliance Store and had been chief deputy of the Gramercy Police Department. He also served as aveterans services officer for St. James Parish.Services were held March 9 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.
