Tigers sweep tournament

BOUTTE – Hahnville continued its hot start by sweeping the Destrehan- Hahnville Tournament over the weekend.
The Tigers improved to 6-1 with the sweep.
Hahnville opened the tournament with a 14-3 victory over Belaire Friday afternoon. Brandon Kelly, Chris Hawkins and Mike Picard all homered for theTigers.
Kelly went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs. Picard went 2-for-4 and drove inthree while Hawkins also went 2-for-4, driving in two runs. Tim Sirmon went4-for-4 and drove in one. Erik Donnaud pitched a two-hitter to improve to 1-1on the season.
Hahnville scored six in the second inning and held on for a 7-6 victory over Baker Saturday morning. Hawkins, Sirmon and Picard each had two hits. MattCaire picked up the win for his first decision of the year.
In the Tigers’ tournament finale against Denham Springs, the Tigers rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull out a 6-5 victory.
Kade Rogers and Kelly each went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs apiece while Hawkins added a home run.
Ronnie Petit (1-0) picked up the victory.
