Hahnville moves into first

GALLIANO – Hahnville took sole possession of first place in District 7-5A with a 51-49 victory at South Lafourche Tuesday night.

Hahnville improved to 10-1 in district play and 20-4 overall with the victory.

The Tigers went for the outright district title at home last night against East St. John. South Lafourche fell to second place with a 19-11 overall recordand a 9-2 record in district.

Harold Comminie gave the Tigers the victory by grabbing a steal at midcourt and driving in for the winning score at the buzzer. Comminie finished with 11points.

Dawan Landry and Nick Cannon each had 12 points to lead the Tigers.

South Lafourche, which jumped out to a 30-14 haftime lead, was led by Chris Bruce with 18 points. Adam Minor chipped in with seven points. Hahnville pulled to within 45-31 at the end of the third quarter and then out- scored the Tarpons 20-4 in the final quarter. Landry tied the game at 49with 1:23 left.
