LAPLACE – Committee assignments chairmanships were approved Tuesday in the first working business meeting for the new St. John the Baptist ParishCouncil.

Committees and their members are: Finance Committee: Chairman Cleveland Farlough, Steve Lee, Lester Rainey, Ranney Wilson, Job Boucvalt and council chairman ex-officio.

Insurance Committee: Chairman Steve Lee, Allen St. Pierre, MelissaFaucheux, Ranney Wilson, council chairman and two administration appointees.

Solid Waste Committee: Chairman Allen St. Pierre, Job Boucvalt, DaleWolfe, Steve Lee and council chairman ex-officio.

Grants Committee: Chairman Melissa Faucheux, Lester Rainey, Job Boucvalt, Cleveland Farlough and council chairman ex-officio Equalization Committee: Chairman Dale Wolfe, Lester Rainey, Melissa Faucheux, Ranney Wilson and council chairman ex-officio.

In other council appointments, Farlough was appointed to the South Central Planning Board with St. Pierre as an alternate. Boucvalt and Faucheux werenamed to the River Region Caucus, Rainey was appointed to the Community Action Agency and Duaine Duffy was put on the Metrovision Board of Governments with Lee as an alternate.
