Martin then found Scontrino inside and took a pass from Bourgeois inside to give the Lady Comets a 22-13 lead after three quarters of play.

Bourgeois and Scontrino chipped in with four apiece. Price and O’Leary ledEpiscopal with eight points apiece.

“There were two things I was really proud of,” St. Charles Catholic coachJeff Montz said. “It was really a team effort. We were unselfish. And whenthey held the ball (at the beginning of the third quarter), we didn’t get overanxious. We made some big plays to pull away so that they couldn’thold the ball. It was good preparation for the district opener Friday night.”St. Charles Catholic opens District 9-3A play Friday at E.D. White.
