BOUDREAUX DESTREHANDelores DeBautte Boudreaux, 67, a native and resident of New Sarpy, died May 28. She was the wife of Charles “Butterbean”Boudreaux and mother of Jodie Dupuy, Anne Ardoin and JoEllen, Paul and Charles “Butch” Boudreaux.

She was also the daughter of Annabelle DeBautte and the late Edgar DeBautte and sister of Warren “Mousy” DeBautte.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services were held May 31 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church,Destrehan, with interment at the church cemetery.

CANTRELLE MARREROIona St. Amant Cantrelle, 77, a native of Des Allemands and aresident of Marrero for 46 years, died May 30. She was the wife of ErnestCantrelle and mother of Harriet Cantrelle.

She was also the daughter of the late Francois and Catherine St. Amantand sister of Nettie Multer, Vera Neil, Bernadine Melancon, Norman St.

Amant and the late Elise Cocke and Frank, Ignatius, Jesse, Alton, Van, Nolan, Gerlad and Marvin St. Amant.She is also survived by one grandchild.

Services were held June 1 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment at Westlawn Memorial Park.

FORTIER NEW ORLEANSJeanetta Lewis Fortier, 81, a native of Reserve and a resident of New Orleans for 75 years, died May 26. She was the wife of thelate Alfred Fortier and mother of Sidney Holmes.

She was also the daughter of the late Celestine and Georgiana Weston Lewis and sister of the late Hazel and Johnny Lewis.

She is also survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held June 1 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, NewOrleans, with interment at Resthaven Memorial Park.

GILMORE KENNERRita Webre Gilmore, 73, a native of Vacherie and resident of Kenner for 36 years, died May 29. She was the wife of the late Milton C.Gilmore Sr. and mother of Sharon Freibert, Patricia Bermudez, Dina Bidezand Judith, John, David, Dennis, Jeffrey and Milton Gilmore Jr.

She was also the daughter of the late Damase and Beatrice Becknel Webre and sister of Ruth Downs, Therese Talbot, Rose Rodrigue, Joe Webre and the late Beatrice Oubre, Stella Cazenave and Odile and Victor Webre.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held June 1 in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son FuneralHome, Kenner, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, St. Rose.

PALERMO MARREROJosephine Talamo Palermo, 93, a native of Vacherie and a resident of Marrero for 80 years, died May 27. She was the wife of the lateJoseph Palermo and mother of Mary Ann Stansbury, Ciro “Jimmy” Palermo, Liborio “Buddy” Palermo and Joseph A. Palermo.She was also the daughter of the late Liborio and Anna Trippi Talamo and sister of Anthony “Tony” Talamo and the late Theresa Nocito and Gus, Joseph, Vincent, Angelo, Russell and Salvadore Talamo.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were held June 1 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church,Marrero, with interment at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery, Westwego.

ROBINSON DES ALLEMANDS Charles Henry Robinson, 53, a native of Des Allemands, former resident of Kenner for 20 years, and resident of Des Allemands, died May 27. He was the son of Mable Robinson and brother of VirtPoindexter, Jacqueline Wesley and Leo Robinson.

Graveside services were held May 29 at Shell Mound Cemetery, Des Allemands.ALLEN DES ALLEMANDSMyrtle Bourgeois Allen, 76, a native and resident of Des Allemands, died May 26. She was the wife of the late Van Allen and motherof Elizabeth, David, Ronald, Van, Donald, Brian, Glenn and Patrick Allen.

She was also the daughter of the late Alexander and Altertine B. Bourgeoisand sister of the late Solange Meyer and Simon and Stephen Bourgeois.

She is also survived by 10 grandchildren.

She was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Nursing Corps.Services were Saturday at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Des Allemands,with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at noon.

BOURGEOIS NORCOEarle Blanchard “Duke” Bourgeois, 88, a native of Central, former resident of Good Hope and resident of Norco, died May 25. He was thehusband of Noelie Poche Bourgeois and father of Judity Casey and the Rev.

Msgr. Joseph Bourgeois.He was also the son of the late Felix and Nettie Blanchard Bourgeois and brother of William Bourgeois and the late Pamelia Berrigan, Freida Forsythe and Oswald, O’Neal and Uri Bourgeois.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services were held May 27 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.

CATOIR LAPLACETullos Gerald Catoir, 68, a native and resident of Reserve, died May 25. He was the husband of Mary Love Joy Vicknair Catoir and father ofJulie LeBlanc, Phyllis Young, Joy Corbin, Roger and Steven Catoir and the late Todd Catoir.

He was also the son of the late Wilson Sr. and Anna Mae Tullos Catoir andbrother of Beverly Madere, Doris Lacour and the late Calvin and Wilson Catoir Jr.

He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Services were held May 27 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

CURREN RESERVEPaulina Songy Curren, 82, a native of Vacherie, former resident of Reserve and resident of Texas, died May 24. She was the wife of thelate Edward J. Curren and mother of Justin Curren.She was also the daughter of the late Justin and Palmyre Hymel Songy and sister of Doris Weber, Denise Cambre, May Bechnel and the late Agnes, Clarisse and Edmond Songy.

She is also survived by four grandchildren.

Services were held May 27 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, withinterment at the church cemetery.

DELMORE CONVENTYvonne Marie “Vonnie” Delmore, 56, a native and resident of Convent, died May 23. She was the mother of Robin, Kimela, Darolyn, Delland Jose’ Williams and the late Kimela and Tequilla, Robert and Kenneth Williams.

She was also the daughter of Albertine Delmore and the late Lester Delmore Sr. and the sister of Jeanne Clayton, Sheila Scott, MableWashington, Terri, Alvin, Lee and Lester Delmore Jr. and the late NovaDavid and Bernadette and Lester Paul Delmore.

She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Convent, withinterment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

GASSEN METAIRIEMarcel Albert “Red” Gassen Jr., 84, a native of Luling and aresident of New Orleans for 50 years, died May 25. He was the husband ofLillie Mae Gourgues Gassen and father of Patricia Nieto and Marcel III and Bryan Gassen.

He was also the son of the late Marcel and Nina Trepagnier Gassen and brother of the late Joseph A. Gassen Sr.He is also survived by four grandchildren.

He was a Shell/Norco retiree after 44 years.

Services were held May 28 in the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.

Winston and husband by second marriage of Dorothy Monroe Honor,father of Shellie Young and Arolyn Honor and step-father of Tonja Monroe and L.C. Hollies Jr.He was also the son of the late Melvin Sr. and Sarah Honor and brother ofSarah Pierre, Marilyn Brown, Celestine Williams and Darryl Sr., Helen,Elwood, Roy, Morris Sr., Melvin and Warren Honor.Services were Saturday at First Baptist Church of Paradis, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

JOSEPH ALGIERSLillian P. Banks Shiloh Joseph, 85, a native of Garyville and aresident of New Orleans for many years, died May 24. She was the wife byfirst marriage of the late Clarence Shiloh and by second marriage of the late Edward Joseph and mother of Laura and Ernest Shiloh.

She was also the daughter of the late Anaise and Laura Banks and sister of the late Dorothy Bush and Peter and James Banks.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held May 28 at St. Stephen’s Baptist Church, Algiers, withinterment at Restlawn Park.

KELLER LAPLACEShawn Michael Keller, 28, a native and resident of LaPlace, died May 24. He was the husband of Christina Cancienne Keller and fatherof Shawn II and Victoria Keller.

He was also the son of F.J. and Roline Mabile Keller and brother of LisaFalgout, Chris Keller and the late Kevin Keller.

He was also the grandson of the late Octave and Jennie Mabile and Hilda Cecile Triche.

Services were held May 28 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace,with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

RILEY CONVENTGeorge “Rev” Riley, 81, a native of St. Francisville and aresident of Convent, died May 22. He was the companion of PhellanaseMarshall.

He is also survived by numerous step-children and step-grandchildren.

Services were Saturday at Phillippian Baptist Church, Convent, with interment in the church cemetery.

ROUSSELL MARREROHerbert Julian Roussell, 59, a native of Edgard and a resident of Marrero, died May 22. He was the husband of the late Remonia H.Roussell and father of Mark Roussell.

He was also the son of the late Etienne and Florence Roussell and brother of Irene Mitchell, Lucille Joseph, Camile and Joseph Roussell and the late Claude, Urbin and Emile Roussell.

Services were held May 27 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church,Marrero, with interment at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Edgard.
