DUFRENE NEW ORLEANS – Leonce Tousaint Dufrene, 90, a native of Des Allemands and a resident of New Orleans, died March 29. He was the husband by firstmarriage of the late Addie Chauvin Dufrene and by second marriage of Hazel Basile Dufrene. He was the father of Mrs. Lincoln Brennan, MargaretMorgan and Leroy Dufrene Sr. and step-father of Mrs. Russell Waterman andJosephine Barrios.
He was also the brother of Mrs. Morris Chauvin, Mrs. Julien Reeve, Mrs.Glenn Trosclair, Whitney Lester and Ernest and the late Norris Dufrene.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held March 31 in the chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, New Orleans, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery.
FOBB RESERVE – Herbert Fobb, 58, a native of Reserve and a resident of New Orleans for 22 years, died March 28. He was the father of Jeannette Cook,Herbert Carter and Reginald Fobb.
He was also the brother of Ruby Mae Keller and Earl and Eric Fobb.
He is also survived by six grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at Pilgrim Baptist Church, Reserve, withinterment at Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.HADLEY GRETNA – Ella Mae Hadley, 74, a native of Vacherie and a resident of Marrero, died March 28. She was the mother of Reginald Hadley.She was also the sister of Corine Lewis and Richard Fletcher Sr.
She is also survived by four grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, Gretna, withinterment at Restlawn Cemetery, Avondale. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.HUBERT METAIRIE – Muriel Genevieve Hubert, 91, a native of Des Allemands, a former resident of New Orleans and a resident of Metairie for 20 years, died March 28.
She is survived by a niece.
Memorial services were held April 1 at Lake Lawn Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Metairie Cemetery.
LAZOWSKY LAPLACE – Joseph Lazowsky, 81, a native of New Jersey and a resident of LaPlace for two years, died March 28. He was the husband of GladysLemoine Lazowsky and father of JoAnn Zydallas.
He was also the brother of Stella Jackson and the late Ann Norman and Benny, Frank and Johnny Lazowsky.
He is also survived by three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 1 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home.
MATTHEWS MARRERO – Debra Morales Matthews, 32, a resident of Boutte, died April 30. She was the wife of Craig Matthews and mother of Caitlin MarieMatthews.
She was also the daughter of Louis Sr. and the late Eva F. Morales, step-daughter of Lillian E. Morales, sister of Louis Morales Jr. and step-sisterof Lisa Champagne.
Services were held April 2 in the chapel of Westside Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment at Restlawn Cemetery, Avondale.
SANCHEZ PAULINA – Anna Carnaggio Sanchez, 79, a native and resident of Paulina, died April 1. She was the wife of the late Joseph Young Sanchez andmother of Ann Poche and JoAnn Bordner.
She was also the daughter of the late Frank and Vita Accardo Carnaggio and sister of the late Camille and Harry Carnaggio.
She is also survived by four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are April 5 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, withinterment at the church mausoleum. Visitation is Sunday, 6-10 p.m., andMonday from 8-9:45 a.m.SAUL LAPLACE – A’ja J’nae Saul, 2 months, a native and resident of LaPlace, died March 30. She was the daughter of Natashia Williams and MarcusCornelius Saul and sister of Aaron Saul.
She was also the grandchild of Clarence and Eva Smith, Earlie Saul and the late Preston Saul.
Services are today at 1 p.m. at Church of God in Christ, LaPlace, withinterment at Montz Memorial Cemetery. Visitation starts at noon.SINGLETON MARRERO – Angeline Singleton, 79, a native of Vacherie, resident of New York City for 50 years and resident of Marrero for three years, died March 26. She was the wife of George Singleton, mother of the late GilbertDumas and step-mother of Georgina McKinley and Anna Bell Boyd.
She was also the daughter of the late Wilfred and Adolestine Dumas and sister of Cora Walker, Alfred, Lumas and Clarence Dumas and the late Enola Narcisse and Wilfred, Dalton and James Dumas.
She is also survived by two grandchildren.
Services were held April 1 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church,Marrero, with interment at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Vacherie.
STIPE GRAMERCY – Virginia “Doll” Stipe, 64, a native and resident of Lutcher, died March 24. She was the mother of Raymond Stipe Kirklin.She was also the step-sister of Effie Jackson, Norphy Steib and the late Lula Mae Williams.
Services were held April 1 at New Zion Baptist Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina.
