Four arrested in drug raid

RESERVE – Narcotics detectives made four arrests Thursday evening at a trailer residence in Reserve, busting what officials believe is a main supplier and distributor of narcotics in the Reserve Oaks Housing Project.

Lt. Michael Tregre reported that at 6:37 p.m., narcotics officers served asearch warrant at 272 East 14th St., Reserve, and recovered 170 grams ofpowder and crack cocaine, 47 grams of marijuana and $1,500 in cash.

The estimated street value of the drugs is $13,000, Tregre said, and the officers also found a semi-automatic handgun reported stolen in February in Independence.

Arrested were: Horace J. Lewis Jr., 20, 272 East 14th St., charged with possession withintent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of 28-200 grams of cocaine, possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance and possession of stolen property.

Linda Lewis, 49, 272 East 14th St., charged with possession with intentto distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance and possession of stolen property.

Albert Robinson Sr., 50, 272 East 14th St., charged with possession withintent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance and possession of stolen property.

Emelda A. Lewis, 21, 272 East 14th St., charged with possession withintent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance and possession of stolen property.

Emelda Lewis is the mother of Linda and Horace Lewis and wife of Albert Robinson, according to the sheriff’s spokesman.

Tregre added that Horace Lewis was identified by agents as a major narcotics supplier in the Reserve housing development.

He said the investigation’s success was largely due to the cooperation of the St. John Housing Authority and residents in that community.
