(Supporting Parks and Children Equally), a non-profitorganization, will be hosting an instruction baseball clinic Jan. 23, 1999,at The Glade School from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.The clinic will feature Treinadad Hubbard of the Los Angeles Dodgers, St.
James native Lenny Webster of the Baltimore Orioles, Riverside Academy’s Carl Schultz of the Chicago Cubs, East St. John’s DarrylNicholas of the Milwaukee Brewers and Thomas Pittman of the Montreal Expos along with the support of Aaron Lombard, Community Re-lations Director for the New Orleans Zephyrs and a host of other minor and major league athletes.
Registration will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wal-Mart Shopping Center on Airline Highway in LaPlace.
The instructional clinic will be geared toward teaching the fundamental skills of baseball for children ages 8-16 years-old. The cost of the clinicwill be $20 per child. All proceeds will benefit parish recreation. Partici-pants will be responsible for providing their own shoes and gloves.
The South Tangi Youth Soccer Association, in conjunction with the Louisiana Soccer Association, will host a Youth Module level coaching certification course for under six and under eight coaches.
The course is open to all coaches and will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.Saturday at Southeastern Louisiana Uni-versity. The course is $25 forcoaches affiliated to the state association and $35 for those non- affiliated.
