Breakfast for Boy Scouts: Presentations, donation effort included April 11

DESTREHAN — The Southeast Louisiana Council, Boy Scouts of America will hold its annual breakfast to support Scouting programs in St. Charles, St. John, and St. James Parishes.
The breakfast is sponsored by Valero and starts at 8 a.m. April 11 at Cypress Lakes Country Club in Destrehan. An “ask for support” will be made during the program.
Individuals and businesses with an interest in supporting Scouting programs can contact Matt Miller at Matthew.Miller@Scouting.org or 504-889-0388 to RSVP for the breakfast.
Deadline for RSVP is Thursday.
More than 750 youth participated in programs located in the River Region last year, and this year’s breakfast gathering is a critical component of the local council’s fundraising efforts.
The event helps provide funding for camps, training, literature, programs, professional and volunteer support and expansion.
Organizers stress Scouting offers life-changing experiences youth cannot get anywhere else and makes the most of the time parents have to positively impact their children.
This year’s will showcase Scouting programs in the area, and attendees will hear from volunteers and youth involved in the program on the impact that Scouting has in the community.
The Southeast Louisiana Council, BSA serves more than 7,300 Scouts in 11 parishes with a mission to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
