- Sept. 26, 1998: Eual J. Landry Middle School was recently awarded several musical instruments from VH-1 “Save the Music” in conjunction with Cox Communications. Under the direction of Dr. James Taylor and William Picard, music directors Charley Hall Jr. and A.J. Pittman wrote a grant proposal that was awarded from hundreds of other applicants. Sept. 26, 1968: Glenn Paul Becnel, L’il Mr. VFW for 1968, won the title at the Reserve VFW’s Labor Day Fair. Glenn is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Landry Becnel of Reserve.
