JulieAnna Smith is the Hurst Middle School 2013-14 Teacher of the Year. Smith is a reading teacher and has been teaching for 10 years, five of which she has served as a teacher at Hurst.  She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Miss., where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and also received the Outstanding Leadership Award for her graduating class. Smith is currently pursuing her master’s degree in psychology.  From left, Harry Hurst Principal Steven Guitterrez and Harry Hurst Teacher of the Year JulieAnna Smith pose for a picture.
