- May 5, 1993: St. John the Baptist Parish’s Doris Chenevert and Betty Caruthers, second right and far right, display the medals they received for winning first place in the ladies’ doubles 60-64 division of the Senior Olympics bowling competition. Also pictured at left are St. Charles Parish’s Martha Lambert and Gerri Schexnayder, who came in third.
May 3, 1973: Lutcher’s Jerry Curtis gets over the high jump bar en route to setting a record by leaping 6 feet, 3 inches. Despite his record leap, Curtis finished second in the Hammond event to an athlete who cleared the same height but was awarded first place because of fewer misses.
May 5, 1983: These children are ready for the Little Red Church Food and Fun Fest at St. Charles Borromeo School by sporting the festival hats and T-shirts sold at the fair.
