Camilla Vutera Milioto

Born on Feb. 3, 1921, in Independence, Camilla grew up in the strawberry farming community of Hammond and became a resident of LaPlace as a young woman in December 1940, when she married Dominick J. Milioto, to whom she was married for 59 years until Dominick’s death in 1999.

Camilla is survived by her daughters, Catherine M. Hartman (Raymond), Ann M. Reeves, Rosemary Minnie Correia (Edmund) and Joan M. Milioto; siblings Betsy V. Arcuri, Anthony Buddy Vutera (Marie) and Joe Vutera (Virginia); sisters-in-law Gloria (Mrs. Louis) Vutera, Phyllis (Mrs. Sam) Vutera and Lucres (Mrs. Tony) Milioto.

She was grandmother to Travis Hartman (Allison), Brett Hartman (Rachael), David Correia (Marissa) and Daniel Correia (Shauna) and a great grandmother to Hailey and Lindsey Correia, Tyler, Olivia and Matthew Hartman, Marion and Mateo Hartman and Connor Mackin.
Camilla was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dominick J. Milioto; her parents, Antonina and Matteo Vutera; her siblings Louis Vutera, Sam Vutera and Josie V. Faldetta; and by her son-in-law Jerry L. Reeves.

She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Daughters for 62 years, the Ladies Alter Society, Ladies K. C. Auxiliary and St. Joan of Arc Thrift Store.
Camilla enjoyed a lifetime of sewing and gardening. She was a gifted crafter, seamstress and handywoman, and could make “something out of anything” and no can of paint was safe until every wall in the house was repainted.

Camilla’s greatest gift was her immense love of family and friends. That love was reciprocated by those who knew her. Her presence will be missed, but she remains a part of all who loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers masses or donations to a charity of your choice.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 529 W 5th S. in LaPlace, on Friday, Feb. 3 at 11 a.m.

Visitation at the church is from 9:30 until 11 a.m.

Interment is in St. Peter Cemetery.
