MT. AIRY — The St. John the Baptist Parish Public School District is continuing its series of Patron Tours Thursday at Garyville-Mt. Airy Math and Science Magnet School.

The tour begins at 9 a.m. with a brief overview of the magnet program. Following the overview, visitors will be able to tour the campus.

Highlights of the tour will include the Discovery Center, Project Lead the Way, the Math/Science Quiz Bowl and the Teacher Advancement Program.

A brief question-and-answer session wraps up the Patron Tour at 10:30 a.m.

Thursday’s event is part of a yearlong series of tours designed to give members of the community a look inside today’s public schools and to answer any questions they may have.

A new tour will take place each month at a different school.

The next tour is scheduled for 9 a.m. Nov. 11 at Fifth Ward Elementary School.
