RESERVE — A local man is facing numerous charges, including burglary, after cash was stolen from a St. John Parish snack shop.
Ryan Stewart, 22, of Reserve is being held in lieu of a $35,000 bond after authorities linked him to the Sept. 26 robbery of Guidry’s Goodies on West Airline Highway in Reserve, Sheriff Mike Tregre said in a release.
St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the location after a sum of cash was reported stolen.
“With recorded video surveillance recovered from the business, detectives identified the suspect as (Stewart) and obtained a judicial court ordered arrest warrant for Stewart for simple burglary,” Tregre said, adding when detectives arrested Stewart, he possessed a camera bag, camera and lens that were reported stolen in May 2015.
Detectives followed with a second arrest warrant for Stewart for illegal possession of stolen things.
Stewart is booked with simple burglary and illegal possession of stolen things.
Tregre said Stewart has been arrested four times in St. John Parish since February 2015 on charges including simple battery, illegal possession of stolen things, simple burglary and simple escape.
