LAPLACE — Officers with the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office were special guests at the morning worship service Sept. 11 at First Baptist Church of LaPlace.

Pastor Paul Naylor and the congregation welcomed Sheriff Mike Tregre and his fellow officers for the church’s Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

Naylor said the church community is thankful for the service provided by the Sheriff’s Office, and church members were happy to honor officers and to have them join the congregation for worship.

Naylor also offered a special blessing for officers.

After the service, a delicious jambalaya lunch was served. Officers on duty were invited to pick up meals.

Assisting the church with providing the meal were Matherne’s Supermarket, Winn Dixie, Veron’s Supermarket, Food for Less and Jacob’s Andouille.
