Donald “Pompy” Williams

Donald “Pompy” Williams, loving and dedicated husband and father, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016, surrounded by his wife and two sons at St. Joseph Hospice Center in Baton Rouge at the age of 74.

Many family members and friends visited him at St. Joseph’s.

Pompy was born in Reserve, a resident of Gonzales and was an electrician for 42 years at Kaiser Aluminum and Calciner Industries.

He enjoyed visiting family, spending time with friends, traveling, watching Saints and LSU football games and making people laugh. His humor resonated with everyone who spent time with him.

Pompy instilled values to his sons of family first, strong work ethic and willingness to help others in the time of need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Katherine LaRousse and brother Wayne Williams.

Pompy is survived by his wife, Brenda Brignac Williams, of 49 years; his two sons, business entrepreneur Donald (Donny) A. Williams Jr. and LCDR Brandon J. Williams, USN (Amy); sister Joan Williams; grandchildren Dayton, Delaney, Donnally, Evan, Brooke and Luke; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brenda Williams would like to personally thank her sister, Marlyn Torres, for her support and caring during these difficult times.

Family and friends shared their sympathies and prayers at the home of Tara T. Blank.

He was a man who loved life and will be deeply missed. We were blessed to know him. Brenda Williams would like to thank everyone who shared thoughts and prayers — God Bless You.
