Brandon’s parents, Steve and Wendy Nielsen, and his sister, JJ, and niece JayLynn and Brandon’s daughter Lily, arranged to have Domino’s Pizza delivered for lunch for officers, as well as dinner for the night shift.

Tregre said he and the officers appreciate the Nielsens’ generous act.

“The SJSO will never forget the sacrifice Deputy Nielsen, as well Deputy Jeremy Triche, who also was shot and killed Aug. 16, made as they worked to protect the citizens of St. John Parish,” Tregre said. “Many in our community will always remember Deputy Nielsen and Deputy Triche and the lives they touched.”

Sheriff Mike Tregre was happy to visit with Deputy Brandon Nielsen's family, daughter Lily, niece JayLynn, sister J.J., and parents Steve and Wendy, on the anniversary of Deputy Nielsen's death today.
