Deborah Doster Cortez, born Jan. 6, 1954, died Aug. 2, 2016.

She was the wife to the late Maurice Cortez Sr.; mother to Maurice (Dawn) Cortez Jr., Debbie (Bobby) Culberson, Anthony Cortez, Peggy (Marty) Thibodaux, Tammy (John) Bogart and Lisa (Josh) Simmons; grandmother to Mallory Cortez, Kaleigh Badeaux, Brandon Badeaux, Ashlynn Culberson, Dylan Thibodeaux, Marissa Thibodaux, Lacey Bogart, Reese Bogart, Alec Eastgate, Jacoby Simmons, Alyssa Simmons and the late Chloe Rose Simmons; great grandmother to Jordyn Matheny, Madison Guidry, Lauren Guidry and Ryder Badeaux; daughter of the late Charles Doster and Valerie Cambre; sister to Linda Doster, Denice Thompson, Greg Doster, Puggie Cambre, the late Randy Doster, Buster Doster, Ricky Doster and Lisa Marie Butter.
She is also survived by her stepfather, Boyo Cambre, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She was cremated by Church Funeral Services & Crematory in St. Amant.
The family would like to thank everyone for their donations and prayers throughout all of this.
There will be a graveside service for her at 1 p.m. Aug. 20 at St. John Cemetery in LaPlace. Then she will be placed in the wall with her husband, who is pictured with her.
