LULING — Authorities believe some customers of Repair Dat in Luling have had their privacy criminally violated.
A release from the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office said Cody Dufrene of Des Allemands was arrested May 13 for video voyeurism, defamation and offenses against intellectual properties.
The case began after a Des Allemands woman brought her cell phone to Repair Dat in Luling in February to be repaired.
“Dufrene, who was an employee of the business at the time, allegedly downloaded photographs of the victim without her permission and shared them,” a release said. “Through the sheriff’s office’s investigation, more pictures have been discovered, and it is believed there are more victims.”
Authorities ask anyone who has used the business to repair a cell phone and believes he or she is a victim to contact Detective Brad Walsh with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-783-1135 or 985-783-6807.
“This incident is still under investigation,” the release said.
