LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish threw two huge Easter egg hunts for the parish’s families on Saturday at the annual Easter in the Park event.
The hunt at Highway 51 Park in LaPlace drew 234 children, and 100 children gathered at the West Bank Park Complex in Edgard for the hunt on that side of the river.
“It was a beautiful day for Easter in the Park, as over 300 children participated in this annual event,” said St. John Parish President Natalie Robottom. “Everyone seemed to enjoy the festivities, which included an Easter egg hunt, photos with the Easter Bunny, prizes, pizza and other refreshments to close out the event.”
Children from ages 2 to 12 were invited to participate in the hunt at 11:30 a.m. and enjoy food and prizes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event was a huge family affair, with parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles all escorting children to the event.
