LAPLACE — The St. John the Baptist Parish Grants Office is scheduling appointments for Community Development Block Grant housing applicants to review application status and answer additional questions regarding the programs.
Applicants should contact the call center at 985-359-0555 to schedule a one-on-one consultation with a grants staff member.
Appointments will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday in the St. John Parish Percy Hebert Council Chambers, located at 1801 W. Airline Highway in LaPlace.
“We want to thank residents for their continued patience with the St. John CDBG Housing Programs and assure them that we are working as efficiently as possible to see the programs through to completion,” said Myra Valentine, SJBP Grants Administrator.
The Block Grant Programs are being funded through the $32 million Department of Housing and Urban Development CDBG Disaster Recovery Program and the State of Louisiana Office of Community Development/Disaster Recovery Unit to provide funding to housing, economic development and infrastructure.
The housing programs assist the needs of low- to moderate-income and others who sustained property damage during Hurricane Isaac.
The specific grant-funded housing programs are Homeowner Rehabilitation, Homebuyer Assistance, Housing Elevation and Small Rental Rehabilitation.
