Power of prayer

Bishop Fernand Cheri blessed St. Joan of Arc Catholic School by celebrating Mass recently and visiting the preschool students.
Cheri began his homily by singing, “It’s me; it’s me; it’s me; O Lord, standing in the need of prayer.”
He then encouraged the congregation of students and parishioners to join in. His homily focused on needing others and needing to pray for others. He discussed mercy and the life of St. Augustine, pointing out Augustine did not always live a life worthy of sainthood.
His conversion was a result of many years of prayer by his mother, St. Monica, so Cheri stressed, no matter how “crazy” you may be, there is always hope.
