St. John the Baptist Parish Public School District students excelled at the Region 10 Social Studies Fair Jan. 25 at Nicholls State University. First- and second-place winners in Division I, II and III move on to the state competition in February in Lake Charles.

Regional winners were:

Division I: Donrell Lumar, political science, second place; Norelle Frank, anthropology, third place; Jaden Porter, Louisiana History, third place.

Division II: Jenna Necaise, geography, first place; Madison Boudreaux, sociology, third place.

Division III: Fred Turner, political science, first place; Darrell Bailey, Louisiana History, first place; Loren Aubert, anthropology, second place; Cory Mitchell and Alan Burl, sociology team, second place; Ria Edwards, sociology, third place.

Division IV: Joann Herrera, anthropology, first place; Alexis Dusang, Louisiana history, first place; Sara Sosa, sociology, second place.
