Edward Paul Morris, 71, a native and resident of Garyville, was called home to rest on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Audrey Pate Morris, father of De  licia Brown, Wanda Pate, Mavis Morris-Ken    drick and Edward Jermaine Morris (Ayesha Gauff-Morris), son of the late Julia McClip Morris and Ernest Morris and brother of Eldrige Morris (Del Vekio), Bar bara Hills, Er  nestine Morris, Janet Boldene, Olivia Woods and Eula Mae Williams. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He received an associate degree from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in Cincinnati, Ohio. He retired after 30 years of service from Kaiser Aluminum Plant and the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Office. He was known for his activeness in politics, and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

A Homegoing Cele bra tion was held on Friday, April 11, 2014, at First Community Antioch Baptist Church in Lutcher, with the Rev. Gary Bolden officiating. Interment was at St. John Memorial Gardens of LaPlace. Richardson Funeral Home of Jefferson Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
