Melba Simon Millet

Melba Simon Millet passed away on Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at the age of 92.
A resident of Garyville, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roland Millet; parents Sylvester and Irene Simon, brothers George, Harold, Camille and Berckman Simon, sisters Wilda (Schexnayder), Thelma (Melancon), Mae (Melancon), Irene, Margaret Ruby and Beulah Simon, and a great-grandson, Grant Goughnour.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Byron J. Millet (Drema), Susan M. Gomila (Bill), Jane M. Roussel (Kevin) and Alison M. Ariail (John); her 11 grandchildren, Lisette Webre, Byron Millet Jr., Holly Goughnour, Lori Foy, William Gomila Jr., Andrew Gomila, Matthew Roussel, Alison Osterberger, Adam Roussel, Ellen Ariail and John Ariail, III; and 17 great grandchildren.

Melba Millet will be remembered for her kindness, love of family, words of wisdom and sense of humor. The family requests memorial donations to the Children’s Heart Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1550 Hwy 44 in Reserve on Wednesday, Jan. 6 at noon.
Visitation at the church is from 10 a.m. until noon. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery.
