LAPLACE — St. John the Baptist Parish officials said more than 1,500 customers who lost power in the Belle Terre and Riverlands areas of the parish during an overnight storm have had their power restored, with about 200 customers remaining without power parishwide.

Entergy crews are in the Parish today, working to restore additional power.

The right lane of Airline Highway remains closed from East 22nd Street to Jackson Street due to downed power lines and more than 10 downed poles.

The left lane is open to through traffic, and motorists are encouraged to use caution when driving through the area. St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies are in the area assisting.

The traffic signals on Belle Terre Boulevard in LaPlace are back online.
