Dec. 20, 1990: Robbie the Robot, St. John the Baptist Parish Sgt. Wayne Norwood; Santa, Deputy C.J. Destor; and Rudolf, Loma Linda Mitchell brought holiday cheer to St. Joan of Arc School students in LaPlace and helped raise money.
Dec. 26, 1974: Henry Sullivan Jr. of Reserve is sworn in as District 9 school board member by attorney William O’Regan. Sullivan was appointed to the post by Gov. Edwin Edwards to fill the vacancy left by resignation of Carl Baloney, who resigned his office to accept the position as chief civil deputy of St. John the Baptist Parish.
