Dec. 26, 1974: Henry Sullivan Jr. of Reserve is sworn in as District 9 school board member by attorney William O’Regan. Sullivan was appointed to the post by Gov. Edwin Edwards to fill the vacancy left by resignation of Carl Baloney, who resigned his office to accept the position as chief civil deputy of St. John the Baptist Parish.
