LAPLACE — Nyoki Casey Brown and Candice Sorapuru held a grand opening Dec. 5 for Innovative Approaches Counseling Center.

The owners and therapists were joined by parish officials and Economic Development Committee Secretary Eliza Eugene, River Region Chamber of Commerce representatives and a host of family members to celebrate the center’s new location at 3013 U.S. 51, Suite B in LaPlace.

“We pride ourselves on treating each client as an equal member of the treatment team and encourage them to be an active participant in goal setting, treatment planning and their healing,” Brown said.

Innovative Approaches Counseling is comprised of three experienced and licensed social workers/therapists who offer comprehensive, individualized and holistic social services and clinical counseling services to children, families and individuals in River Parishes.

The professionals at Innovative Approaches strive to help every client achieve emotional wellness and positive change in their lives. Their motto is “Transforming Lives through Vision, Imagination, Creativity and Innovation.”

Services include individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, marriage, couples therapy, parent management training, parent skill building and mental status exams.

In addition, the center provides positive behavior supports to address problematic behaviors identified by teachers and parents of children with developmental disabilities.
