Community members can help gives cats better life

Thank you for your article in the May 30 issue on National Adopt a Cat Month and for acknowledging me for what I do with the cats.

I would like to elaborate on the statement that said I spend my time at the shelter playing with kittens and cats.

When I have time, I do use cat toys to give them needed exercise. The main thing I do is give them time out of the cage so they can stretch and walk.

I give them human contact and affection for a few minutes in a day.

I have to pace my time with them to cover all or most of the cats in a day. I try to give them a better quality of life for whatever time they have left at the shelter.

People can help stop the suffering and deaths of cats out on the streets by spaying and neutering.

If you’re feeding outdoor cats, you can contact the Riverlands SPCA about this.
