Reserve 18-year-old shot, 2 arrested

RESERVE — An 18-year-old man was shot Monday in Reserve and two others have been arrested following an investigation, authorities said.
St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Sunnyside Drive and Creole Street in Reserve following gunshots reported at 3:26 p.m. Monday.
Sheriff Mike Tregre said deputies located six teenage male subjects between 17-19 who said they were shot at.
“One teenager was shot in the leg,” Tregre said in a release. “The 18-year-old victim that sustained the gunshot wound was transported by EMS to an area hospital for treatment. No one else was injured. The teenage victims told deputies they were shot at in front of a residence in the 1700 block of Creole Street. Deputies reported a car and a house were hit with gunshots during the (shooting).”
Deputies received information from residents, who said those responsible for the shooting were traveling in a gray Buick.
Deputies located the car occupied by two subjects in a parking lot at River Road and East 13th Street in Reserve, Tregre said, detaining Jeremiah Smith, 20, of Delta Drive in Reserve and Lawrence Dennis, 18, of East 10th Street in Reserve.
Dennis is booked with six counts of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of aggravated criminal damage to property and two counts of possession of marijuana. Dennis’ bond has not been set.
Detectives booked Smith with six counts of principal to attempted second-degree murder. Smith’s bond has not been set.
