Photo feature: Hero meets Eisenhower’s family

- O’Neil Boe, the 93-year-old Reserve man who is pictured alongside Gen. Eisenhower in an iconic photo of World War II, recently met two of Eisenhower’s granddaughters when the National World War II Museum organized a panel discussion with them to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II. Danny Becnel, who escorted Boe to the event, said over 50 people in the audience wanted to speak to, take pictures with and get autographs from Boe. ‘This is the kind of hero we should all hope our lives touch,’ Becnel said of Boe.
