New principals, assistants named

RESERVE – Students at many of the schools in St. John the Baptist Parishwill be administered by different principals and assistant principals this year.
New principals in the parish are Glenda Gaudet at West St. John HighSchool, Courtney Millet at LaPlace Elementary and Shelton Smith at West St. John Elementary.School administrators who have already acted as principals, but are changing schools are Nora Pierre at Fifth Ward, Jackie Forest at Leon Godchaux Junior High and Phyllis Clark at the St. John Child DevelopmentCenter.
There are also several new assistant principals in the parish’s schools.
Lydia Bazile will be assistant principal at Fifth Ward Elementary, Preston Poche at Garyville/Mt. Airy Math and Science Magnet School, Ken Landry atLeon Godchaux Junior High School, Shirley Trench at John L. OryCommunication Arts Magnet School and Connie Dickerson at East St. JohnHigh School.
Superintendent Cleveland Farlough feels pleased with the selection of principals and assistant principals. “I know these people and if theycontinue what they have been doing they will have a bright future with the St. John School System,” he said.
