I believe in miracles and in my lifetime have experienced some in my family and in the people around me. In my opinion, the greatest miracle isa changed life. Please allow me to share with you a letter I received lastweek, dated Dec. 26.
“Dear Mr. Keller,”Happy holidays to you and your family! “I’m writing to tell you thanks. I thank you from the bottom of my heartfor getting my brother, Mark Minor, into Teen Challenge. Thanks for alwaysbeing there for him and never turning your back on him even when he failed you so many times. Mark spent four months in Arkansas and now is inMissouri.
“He came home on Christmas Eve on a five-day pass. Seeing him home forChristmas healthy and drug-free is one of the best gifts I could ever receive. Our family could not believe how much he has changed. He leftweighing 140 pounds and now weighs 200 pounds. He looks, feels and actsbetter. He now has God in his life and prays a lot (probably something henever did when he was on drugs.) He now realizes just how much he hadand lost to drugs.
“He told us he just has to thank God he didn’t lose his life and he thanks God for giving him another chance. He also told us stories about howwonderful Teen Challenge and its people are. He misses us here, but heknows he has to be there.
“I thank you for being involved with Teen Challenge. From what I’velearned and heard about it dealing with my brother, it’s a great place.
“Thanks so much for your help! “Sincerely, “Yvette M. Oubre”P.S. I always read your newspaper article.”
God did for Mark what no human being could do. Mark had to ask for help, ashe did, but God did it all.
I’m reminded of what the Bible says in II Corinthians 5:17-18: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who hasreconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.”Mark is indeed a miracle of God. What God did for Mark, He can do for you.All you have to do is believe and receive.
