ADAMS

RESERVE – Carroll Joseph “Karut” Adams, 68, a native and resident of Reserve, died Dec. 20. He was the husband of Alma Keller Adams, father ofMuriel Crowley and Tracy Watson and foster-father of Brenda Wesley.

He was also the son of Henry Sr. and Harriet Alexander Adams and brotherof Henry Jr. and Phillip Adams.He is also survived by one grandchild.

He was a Korean War veteran and a retired educator in the St. John ParishSchool System.

Services were held Dec. 23 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve,with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

BOURGEOIS

GRAMERCY – Cecile Laiche Bourgeois, 73, a native and resident of St.

James Parish, died Dec. 22. She was the wife of the late Edward J.Bourgeois and mother of Raymond, Raynard, Bernard and Bryant Bourgeois and the late Katherine Duhon.

She was also the sister of Audrey Prudhomme, Mabel Vicknair, Joyce Duhe, Bridget Bienvenue, Vivian Borne, Heno Laiche Jr. and the late Enola Byrdand Norris Sr., Loyd and Wimpy Laiche.She is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 24 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy,with interment at St. Michael Cemetery, Convent.

BURTON

CONVENT – Alma Jacques Burton, 82, a native of Convent and resident of New Orleans, died Dec. 20. She was the mother of Marilyn Gibbs, DeborahScott and Beverly, Darryl, Jacques and Richard Burton Jr.

She was also the sister of Marie Smith and Charlie and Adam Jacques Jr.

She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 23 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church,Convent, with interment at the church cemetery.

GRAVOIS

VACHERIE – Florence Louquette Gravois, 94, a native of Vacherie and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 22. She was the wife of the late LouisJoseph Gravois Sr. and mother of Priscilla Madere and the late DorothyConstant and Louis Gravois Jr.

She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 24 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, withinterment at the church cemetery.

ST. PIERRE

PAULINA – Timothy James St. Pierre, 38, a native and resident ofGramercy, died Dec. 22. He was the friend of Debra Wirtz.He was also the son of Curry St. Pierre and Joan Hauck, step-son of PhyllisSt. Pierre and brother of Julie Martin, Tessie Heagy and John St. Pierre.He was also the grandson of Elda St. Pierre and the late Rene St. Pierre,Mabel Ganier and John Brien.

Services were held Dec. 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, withinterment at the church cemetery.

STEWART

VACHERIE – Floyd Stewart, 43, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Dec.

18. He was the husband of Carolyn Broden Stewart and father of VincentStewart.

He was also the son of Eva Williams Stewart and the late Alexander Stewart and brother of Maureen Broden, Sophie Broden, Joyce Hebert, Alexander Jr. and Renaldo Stewart.Services were held Dec. 23 at First Baptist Church, Vacherie, withinterment at the church cemetery.
