ACCARDO

PAULINA – Carolyn Ann Cunningham Accardo, 59, a native of Lutcher and resident of Paulina, died Dec. 8. She was the wife of Leon Accardo andfather of Claire Martin, Debbie St. Pierre, Carla LeBlanc and Leon III andKurt Accardo.

She was also the daughter of the late Irving “Frog” and Sadie Cunningham and sister of Mary Vicknair, Irvin “Peanut,” Eugene and Farrell “Popcorn” Cunningham and the late June Cotton and Joyce Mayeaux.

She is also survived by three grandchildren and was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services were held Dec. 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, withinterment at the church mausoleum.

EDWARDS

EDGARD – Florestine “Red” Johnson Edwards, 69, a native and resident of Edgard, died Dec. 6. She was the mother of Patricia Lee, Bridget Pierre andKim and Kentrell Edwards.

She was also the sister of the Rev. Flora Johnson.She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church,Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

EDWARDS

ST. ROSE – Irma Florine Edwards, 88, a native and resident of St. Rose,died Dec. 5. She was the mother of Shirley Mollaire.She was also the daughter of the late James Edwards and Violet Jones Boyd and the sister of the late Lorene Butler.

She is also survived by one grandchild, six great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Fifth African Baptist Church, St. Rose,with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose. Visitation startsat 10 a.m.

HAYDEL

NEW ORLEANS – James Victorian “J.V.” Haydel, 82, a native of Edgard andresident of New Orleans, died Dec. 8. He was the husband of Helen MillerHaydel and father of Gale LeCesne, Sadie LeBlanc, Helen Kerley, Bernadine Pettway, Elizabeth Bostick and Donald and James Haydel Jr.

He was also the son of the late Victorian and Marine Haydel and the brother of Pauline Milton, Sadie Woods and the late Mae Raymond and Adam Sr., Eve and Hazel Haydel.He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Hewas preceded in death by one grandchild.

He was a real estate developer in the Boutte, Marrero and New Orleans area.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, NewOrleans, with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation begins at 8 a.m.

JONES

NEW ORLEANS – Hilda L. Jones, 75, a native of Montz and resident of NewOrleans for 53 years, died Dec. 4. She was the wife of the late JohnnyJones and mother of Kathy Washington, Gary, Roney, Warren, Gregory and Ralph Jones and the late Steven Jones.

She was also the daughter of the late Placide “Sam” and Ernestine Devezan Lewis and sister of Thelma Pierre, Johnnie Lewis and the late Sidney Lewis.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Shewas preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services were held Dec. 9 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, NewOrleans, with interment at Providence Memorial Park.

JOSEPH

KENNER – Earl Chester Joseph Jr., 63, a native of New Orleans and residentof St. Rose, died Dec. 7. He was the husband of Mary Joseph, father ofShelia August, Hope Monique and Cody Joseph and step-father of Robin Bowens, Tony Baptiste and Melvin London.

He was also the brother of Gayle Eugene, Lennora Price, Constance Jackson and Lenny, Theadry and Glenn Williams.

He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services are today at noon at Pilgrim Baptist Church, Kenner, with interment at Love and Charity Cemetery, Kenner. Visitation begins at 11a.m.

LANDRY

MANDEVILLE – Henry Edward Landry Jr., 90, a native of St. John the BaptistParish, resident of New Orleans for 66 years and resident of Mandeville for 17 years, died Dec. 5. He was the husband by first marriage of the lateMary Cullen Landry and by second marriage of Grace Bordeau Wiegand Landry. He was the father of Cullen, Gerald and Henry “Mickey” Landry IIIand step-father of Susan Muller, Kathleen Snyder and Jerry Wiegand.

He was also the son of the late Henry Sr. and Viola Keating Landry andbrother of Samuel, the Rev. Msgr. George Landry and the late CatherineDoussan and James Landry.

He is also survived by four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Services were held Dec. 8 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Mandeville,with interment at Greenwood Cemetery.

PERQUE

VACHERIE – Marie Delatte Perque, 87, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Dec. 7. She was the wife of the late Harry Joseph Perque and motherof Theresa Kliebert and Clayton, Roland, Allen, Harry and Joseph Perque.

She was also the daughter of the late Paul and Theresa Falgoust Delatte and sister of the late Doralise Lasserre and Paul Delatte.

She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services were held Dec. 10 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Vacherie,with interment at the church mausoleum.

ROUSSELL

ST. JAMES – John “Skinner” Roussell, 75, a native of Vacherie and residentof New Orleans, died Dec. 7. He was the husband of Idelma O. Roussell andfather of Harriet Weber and Dwight Roussell.

He was also the brother of James Cooper.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, St. James,with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8:30 a.m.

THOMAS

KENNER – Adline Thomas, 79, a native of Montz and resident of Kenner for 60 years, died Nov. 30.She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at Sweethome Christian Center, Kenner, withinterment at Belgrove Cemetery, Kenner. No wake.

WEBER

NORCO – Samuel “Sam” Weber, 87, a native and resident of Norco, died Dec.

6. He was the husband of Ethel Millet Weber for 51 years and father ofRobert Weber Sr.

He was also the son of the late Ernest and Noemie Vicknair Weber and brother of the late Noemie Simon and Severin, Augustin and John Weber.

He is also survived by two grandchildren.

He was a World War II veteran and a Shell Oil retiree.

Services were held Nov. 9 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco,with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
