AYME NEW ORLEANS – Jeanne Marie Ayme, 98, a native of Convent and a resident of Metairie for 43 years, died Dec. 15. She was the daughter of the lateJoseph and Octavie Thibodeaux Ayme and sister of Earline Walsh and the late Carmen Roussel, Judith Haydel, Mercedes Arms, Marie Gaudet and Edith, Odette, Louis, Octave, Gaston, Sidney, Joseph, Bobby and Neil Ayme.
Services were held Dec. 17 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, NewOrleans, with interment at Greenwood Mausoleum.
DONADIEUGRAMERCY – Leslie Davis Donadieu, 89, a native of Hester and resident of Gramercy, died Dec. 14. She was the wife of the late Fernand A. DonadieuSr. and mother of Aime, Fernand Jr. and Jean Donadieu.She was also the sister of Marian Boudreaux and George and Dave Davis.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were Dec. 16 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, withinterment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.
DORESTVACHERIE – Isabelle “Zabelle” Raphael Dorest, 84, a native of Vacherie and resident of Wallace for 79 years, died Dec. 12. She was the wife of thelate Leonard G. Dorest and mother of Cleo Williams, Bonita Young, WandaBoudreaux, Gilbert, Hamilton, Alfred, Jana and Desiree Dorest and the late Mable Warner and Vernon Dorest.
She was also the daughter of the late Pierre and Feliciana Hymel Dorest and sister of the late Odile Harris, Evelyn Harris, Lorenza Joseph, Baline Taylor, Florida Fernandez and Rose, Adeline, Flora, Leonard, Lazarus and Baltron Raphael.
She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Shewas preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, withinterment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
GRAUGNARD ST. JAMES – Eugene Henry Graugnard, 81, a native and resident of St.James, died Dec. 14. He was the husband of the late Marie “Teta” FuselierGraugnard and father of Mary Prichard and Teresa, Paul, Peter and Brian Graugnard.
He was the son of F. A. Sr. and Denise Schexnayder Graugnard and thebrother of F.A. Graugnard Jr. and the late Marcel and James Graugnard Sr.and half-brother of Mabel Deas, Annette Rodrigue, Edmae Schexnayder, Aline Henderson and Richard Schexnayder.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, St. James,with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
HORN HAHNVILLE – Billie Madere Horn, 66, a resident of Hahnville, died Dec. 14.She was the former wife of Lionel Horn and mother of Donna Guillot, Mary Griffin and Darrell and Gregory Horn.
She was also the daughter of the late James Sr. and Julie Madere andsister of Dolores Guillot and Farrell, Fred, Donald, Alvin and Russell Madere.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren. She is preceded in death byone great-grandchild.
Services were held Dec. 16 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church,Hahnville, with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.
JOSEPH LUTCHER – Raymond “Sco-Peck” Joseph Sr., 72, a native of Vacherie andresident of Lutcher, died Dec. 9. He was the husband of Helen RobichauxJoseph and father of Sharon Chopin and Edward, Raymond Jr. and AdamJoseph.
He was also the son of the late Adam and Genevia Bazille Joseph and brother of Savannah Perkins, Elizabeth Weber, Helen Johnson, Herman Johnson and the late Shelton Diggs, Lubertha Jones and Felicia Hubbard.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 16 at Israelite Baptist Church, Lutcher, withinterment at Western Cemetery, Lutcher.
LAICHE PAULINA – Wilfred J. “Will” Laiche Jr., 95, a native of Paulina and residentof Gramercy, died Dec. 14. He was the husband of the late Beulah MelanconLaiche and father of Beverly Oubre, Margaret Pineda and Warren Laiche Sr.
He was also the son of the late Wilfred Sr. and Edna Laiche and brother ofEli Laiche and the late Elva Zemer, Elsie LeBlanc, Evelyn Arcenaux, Anicent Wallace and Alvin, Otis and Harold Laiche.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Hewas preceded in death by one grandchild.
Services were held Dec. 17 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, withinterment at the church mausoleum.
LANDECHE LAPLACE – Nolan B. Landeche Sr., 84, a native of Killona and resident ofLaPlace for 55 years, died Dec. 14. He was the husband of the late EthelMae LaBranche Landeche and father of Lorraine Dugas, Barbara Ory, Cathy Wade, Nolan Jr., Russell and Michael Landeche and the late Dale Landeche.He was also the son of the late Albert and Julia Haydel Landeche and brother of Anna Belle Debautte, Mildred Debautte, Lisa Gendron, Melbourne Landeche and the late Claudia St. Pierre, Gertrude Berthelot and Terrace,Alphonse and Earl Landeche.
He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 16 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace,with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
SCHEXNAYDER PAULINA – Albert J. Schexnayder, 74, a native of Paulina and resident ofGramercy, died Dec. 14. He was the husband of Flora Roussel Schexnayderand father of Nettie Oubre.
He was also the son of the late Lucien and Aline Schexnayder and brother of Otis Schexnayder Sr.
Services were held Dec. 16 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, withinterment at the church mausoleum.
VICKNAIR CHALMETTE – Angel “Angele” Oubre Vicknair, 88, a native of Vacherie and resident of Chalmette for 35 years, died Dec. 15. She was the wife of thelate Dennis Vicknair Sr. and mother of Dennis Vicknair Jr.She was also the daughter of the late Ovide and Catherine Kliebert Oubre and sister of Pershing Oubre and the late Eva Vicknair, Elmire Binny, Laura Boudreaux, Edith Schmidt and Regice and Moray Oubre.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 17 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor, Chalmette, withinterment at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
